Voice Training

Thanks for your interest in private voice lessons!

I grew up singing in school choirs and started voice lessons at the age of fourteen (14). My sheer infatuation with voice and music took me to the Nashville area during my college years.  I began my journey as a vocal performance major, but quickly grew tired of classical lessons, art songs, and arias; music had become more of a chore than a joy.

I realized then that I did not need a music degree to sing, write, perform, or otherwise enjoy music, so I explored commercial vocal lessons with one of Nashville’s top coaches, completed an incredible internship in marketing at the Country Music Hall of Fame, and finished college early with a B.S. in Speech Communication.

I married and followed my husband to Durham, North Carolina, shortly thereafter, but missed Music City more than words could express. I shared my dream of teaching voice with my day job colleagues and developed my teaching method with my first test clients in my living room. My creative vision grew stronger with each lesson, and what started out simply as “voice lessons” swiftly evolved into something much greater.

I am pleased to offer quality vocal coaching services for speakers and singers of all ages and experience levels — please visit Vocal Strategies LLC to learn more.  You can also follow my studio on Facebook and Twitter.
